Our Hospitalists...
Lakeside Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the appointments of Edwin J. Peña, MD and Alex I. Fahoury, MD., to the Hospitalist Program, which provides care for inpatients. Drs. Peña and Fahoury will work closely with primary care physicians who will have the ultimate decision of caring for their patients. Drs. Peña and Fahoury maintain an office on the second floor of the hospital.
Dr. Edwin J. Peña is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Dr. Peña received his Doctorate in Medicine in 1999. In July of 2001, he entered his residency at the St. Barnabas Hospital affiliated with the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Bronx, New York. In August, he left the residency to become the attending physician caring for the acute and chronically ill patients in Lakeland Regional Medical Center and Bartow Regional Medical Center in Lakeland Florida.
Dr. Alex I. Fahoury is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Fahoury received his Doctorate in Medicine (M.B.B.S.) in 1997 from Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Fahoury completed his residency in June of 2004 at Penn State University, Milton Hershey Medical CTR, Hershey, PA, where he received his extensive training in Medicine & Surgery. In 2004, he was a Faculty Member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Pinnacle Health System, Harrisburg, PA. In 2005, Dr. Fahoury moved to the Rochester area and joined Rochester General Hospital as a full-time attending, supervising residents & caring for acute patients.
Gwen DeLany ia a Nurse Practitioner for our Hospitalist Program. Gwen joins us having most recently working in the Hospitalist Program at Strong Memorial Hospital. Gwen’s role will be to assist the Hospitalists with the management of the patients assigned to their service.
